David Griffiths is an author, screenwriter and playwright from Liverpool, whose work has been performed from London to Edinburgh.
For Ettinger Brothers Productions he wrote, produced and directed the Inspector Vignoles pilot detective murder mystery film Ticket to Ride, set in full early 1950s period style and shot in authentic locations on the Great Central heritage steam railway. He has also written a two-hour screenplay based on the first Inspector Vignoles novel Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.
David’s stage plays have been performed at Liverpool Write Now Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Buxton Festival Fringe and the prestigious Little Pieces of Gold event in Camden.
His passion for drama has allowed him the opportunity to work on diverse feature film projects, spanning multiple genres – from steam railways to existential psychology, which makes him ideal to script both the Ettinger Brothers Productions’ Inspector Vignoles railway detective series and the RD Laing The Divided Self bio-pic.
He also has a passion for science fiction and fantasy, writing comics for Future Quake and Zarjaz. David’s Dickensian Christmas parody novel A Christmas Cthulhu debuted on Amazon’s Top 10 New Horror and is available in Paperback and on Kindle.
When he’s not writing David is the producer and co-founder of the British American Sports Network, commentating on local ice hockey games for the TV series Drop The Puck. This show has since been syndicated across the local TV network, reaching millions of homes weekly across the UK and was available more broadly on Sky TV. His critically acclaimed sports documentary series Dragons’ Fire was broadcast on Liverpool’s Bay TV and is now available on YouTube.
